Fiestas Rojales 2015 - Programmed Events

Autumn begins and once again Rojales celebrate the festivities in honour of its Patron Saint: La Virgen del Rosario.

Take a look at list below and check out all the programmed events. This year, as a novelty, there will be 2 new events:

• Open Air Dance
• The Festival "Night of Stars"

Virgen del Rosario Programme of Festivities 2015

Wednesday, 30th September

At 8:00 p.m. Holy Mass on the Plaza Blanca, in Ciudad Quesada.

Thursday, 1st October

At 7:30 p.m. Holy Mass in honour of our Patron Saint in the neighbourhood “Los Palacios”, Calle Antonio Machado.

Friday, 2nd October

At 7:30 p.m. Holy Mass in honour of our Patron Saint in the neighbourhood “Lo Torre”, Calle Almoradí.

Saturday, 3rd October

At 5:00 p.m. 13th 10 & 5.8 Km Race “Villa de Rojales” organised by the Sports Department of Rojales Town Council. Starting from the “Malecón del Soto”. Children at 5:00 p.m. and Adults at 7:00 p.m.

Sunday, 4th October

At 6:00 a.m. “Rosario de la Aurora” (saying the rosary at sunrise), with the participation of “Los Auroros” from Benijófar.

At 9:00 a.m. Holy Mass in the Parish Church “San Pedro Apóstol” of Rojales.

At 10:30 a.m. Holy Mass in the Church “San José” of Ciudad Quesada.

At 12:00 noon. Holy Mass in the Parish church “San Pedro Apóstol” of Rojales.

At 7:00 p.m. Offering of flowers to our Patron Saint, the Holy “Virgen del Rosario”. Departure from Rojales Health Centre. We will be accompanied by the “dulzaina” (small clarinet) and drum, and music bands, with the participation of our Queens of Fiestas, Authorities and all the Local Associations wishing to take part. During the offering and at its end, the Choir and Dance Ensemble “Museo de la Huerta” from Alcantarilla (Murcia) will perform.

Monday, 5th October

At 7:30 p.m. Holy Mass in honour of our Patron Saint in calle Nuestro Padre Jesús.

Tuesday, 6th October

At 7:30 p.m. Holy Mass in honour of our Patron Saint in the Malecón del Soto. At the end of the Mass, in the Church, the choir “Voces amigas” of Rojales will sing a serenade in honour of the Virgin.

Wednesday, 7th October

“Virgen del Rosario’s Day”

Giants and big heads parading round the streets all day. They will be accompanied by the “dulzaina” and drum.

At 9:00 a.m. Holy Mass in the Parish Church “San Pedro Apóstol” of Rojales. At 10:00 a.m. Music band parading round the streets.

At 10.30 a.m. In the Malecón del Soto, workshops, games and bouncy castles for children.

At 7:00 p.m. Holy Mass in honour of the “Virgen del Rosario” presided over by his Emminence Bishop Jesús Murgui Sorioano and sung by the choir “Voces Amigas” of Rojales, with the attendance of Authorities and the Queens of Fiestas.

At 8:00 p.m. Solemn procession in honour of our Patron Saint the “Virgen del Rosario”, accompanied by the “dulzaina” and drum and a music band. At the end of the procession, a magnificent firework display will be given by Pirotecnia Ferrández from Redován.

Thursday, 8th October

At 7:30 p.m. In the Capitol Theatre, showing of the “U” film: “Cómo entrenar a un dragón 2”. Admission free.

Friday, 9th October

“Valencian Community’s Day”

At 10:30 a.m. In the Malecón del Soto, workshops, games and bouncy castles for children.

At 6:30 p.m. Music band parading round the streets, collecting the contestants of the ribbon race.

At 7:00 p.m. Ribbon Race in the Malecon del Soto. Information and registration in the Information Office at Rojales Town Hall.

Saturday, 10th October

At 9:30 p.m. Fancy Dress Parade. Everybody is welcome to take part. Register at the Information Office at Rojales Town Hall! During the parade, the 2nd INSTAGRAM Contest will take place. Upload your picture on the hashtag #vrcharangarojales2015

Departure from Rojales Health Centre. Route: Cortes Valencianas, Valentín Fuster, F. Serrano, Puente Carlos III, San Antonio, Plaza de España, Rafael Aráez, Orihuela, Puente Reina Sofía, Malecón del Soto.

At 11 p.m. Open Air Dance in the Malecón del Soto. Music by Etiqueta Show Band.

Sunday, 11th October

La Luna de África at the Rodeo Caves, workshops, parades, craftwork exhibitions ...

At 11:00 a.m. Parade from Plaza España to the Rodeo Caves.

At 11:30 a.m. African percussion workshop.

At 12:30 p.m. African Dance workshop.

At 4:00 p.m. Afrofusion and Asso Mbaye in concert.

At 6:30 p.m. Parade from the Rodeo Caves to the Malecón de la Hila. At 7 p.m. Farewell Concert “ La Luna de África”.

At 9:00 p.m. 1st Festival “Night of Stars Rojales 2015” in the Malecón del Soto. We will have the opportunity to enjoy the performances of the people wishing to participate. Register at the Information Office at Rojales Town Hall!

At 11:00 p.m. In the Malecón del Soto, the Hornet ́s Band of Rojales in concert.

Tuesday, 13th October

At 5:30 p.m. Talk about Organic Growing: horticulture, medicinal and aromatic plants. Assembly Hall of the new Sociocultural Centre (next door to Rojales Town Hall)

Wednesday, 14th October

At 5:30 p.m. Encouragement of reading for women living in the countryside. Assembly Hall of the new Sociocultural Centre (next door to Rojales Town Hall).

Thursday, 15th October

At 10:00 a.m. Stand “Rural Woman” at the weekly market grounds.

Friday, 16th October

Workshop “Enterprising young people in the country area”. Place: “La Encantá” High School.

At 10:30 a.m. Photographic Exhibition “Evolution of Rural Women in Alicante”. Place: Cultural Centre of Heredades.

At 6:00 p.m. Conference “Rural Woman”: conditions, good practice and strengthening, by the Spanish Confederation of Federations and Associations of Families and Women living in country areas. Place: Assembly Hall of the new Sociocultural Centre (next door to Rojales Town Hall).

Saturday, 17th October

At 9:00 a.m. 2nd Golf Tournament Rojales Town Council at the facilities of “La Marquesa” Golf Course.

At 7:00 p.m. The Department for Local Development has organised in the terrace of the Social Centre a presentation for our three local sommeliers: Ricardo Cases Andreu, Pascual González Marcos and Javier Cases Pastor.

Sunday, 18th October

At 12:30 p.m. 1st Crazy Cars Race “Villa de Rojales”. Information and registration in the Information Office at Rojales Town Hall until Friday, 16th October. The start: parking of the Primary School “Príncipe de España”. Finish: Calle Cecilio Aráez.

Saturday, 24th October

At 5 p.m. 2nd Workshop “Personal Image and Fashion Style” by Antonio P. Esquiva. Assembly Hall of the new Sociocultural Centre (next door to Rojales Town Hall).

At 9.00 p.m. In the Capitol Theatre, the drama group “Gracias por su visita” presents the play “Ganas de Reñir y Sangre Gorda” in aid of the Brotherhood “Santísimo Cristo de la Buena Muerte”. Admission 3 euros.
